Asteri TheodoraDoretta Asteri holds a

  • a Diploma as a Teacher from Zosimaia Academy of Education (1984)
  • a Bachelor on Primary Education from the Faculty of Primary Education, National & Kapodestrian University, Athens (1996)
  • an M.Ed. in Special Education and Psychology from the Department Primary Education, National & Kapodestrian University, Athens, with a dissertation on the prevailing paradigm for school advisors on learning difficulties (2000)
  • a Ph.D. in Special Education and Psychology from the Department Primary Education, National & Kapodestrian University with a thesis on the treatment of special learning disabilities in the mainstream classroom of the Greek primary school and the evaluation of protocols under the systemic theory and the principles of School-for-All (2006).
  • She is now completing a Master’s Degree on Drama and Performing Arts in Education and Lifelong Learning (Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Peloponnese).

Professional Profile         

  • She is a teacher, working at Greek public primary schools since 1988 and as a Special Educational Needs teacher since 1994, as a member of a multidisciplinary team for SEN diagnosis and as a director of the southern Athens’ Center of Diagnosis, Differentiated Diagnosis and Assessment of Pupils.
  • She is currently attached to the Institute of Educational Policy as Coordinator of the Special Education Unit and Head of the Scientific Unit, Cycle A.
